Industrial Textile Products: A group of textile products that have a need for engineering or industrial thinkingî.

An industrial textile may be a salesman' s sample bag made to fit heavy samples of flooring or building materials. Industrial textiles can be a special cover for electronic equipment on military vehicles. Both items require a thorough process to come up with the best design, fabric, thread, construction, and trim to meet your project's needs.

Webb Manufacturing made both of these projects. The sample bags were for a large kitchen cabinet manufacturer who wanted the sales force to carry samples of kitchen cabinet doors that are offered. Each bag had special padding sewn into each corner and pockets were installed for hardware and brochures. In fact each sample bag was in effect an office on the salesman's shoulder.

The electronic equipment cover was a more extensive project. The covers were made to protect radar and infrared observation equipment mounted on Hummers that roam the deserts of the Middle East. The covers required a soft side, which fit against the equipment and a foam middle that would protect the equipment from rocks thrown up from the ground during maneuvers. The outside of the covers was made from camouflage material.

There were cut outs coupled with Velcro to assure a correct fit around poles and rods, which held the equipment in place on the Hummer. Metal hardware was also used to secure the cover in place to protect against removal during severe weather conditions. Both projects were conceived and delivered on time by the staff at Webb Manufacturing, as were many other industrial textile projects.
